Geiger Key Marina, RV Park and Smokehouse was a cool place to visit. The weather was good so I sat on the outside lower deck. The views of the small marina and ocean are great. The service was great too! The waitress was really friendly, happy, talkative, and full of smiles. I was actually surprised at the friendly service because at first this place appears to be like the usual “locals only joint” with the scruffy pirate dudes at the bar. Walk right past Davy Jones and his crew in the bar and grab a table with a view on the lower deck for an authentic Florida Keys marina grill. I admit the prices seemed about $5 too much for everything, but the atmosphere is worth it. I lucked out and they had speared a Hogfish and put it on the menu (Hogfish usually don’t take bait off the fishing line so it’s not commonly served in restaurants). Cost was $13.95 and included fries and slaw. They have a good selection of mostly cheap brand beers to wash it all down. They advertise seafood items, appetizers, chef specials, and homemade soups. I also saw "big" country style breakfast signs so this also might be a good place to start the day. It's kind of hard to find so follow the directions below.

THE GOOD: Service, menu variety, location was off the tourist radar, and the views aren’t bad. It is definitely the “Backside to Paradise,” and “A Great Place If You Can Find It.”

THE BAD: Nothing is bad...eat here!

RECOMMENDATION: Find it, bring your friends, bring your dog, sit and enjoy a good meal in a cool hidden spot where some of the locals hang out. If you have an automobile GPS it will be easy to locate, otherwise turn South at the Shell station in Geiger Key MM10 off the highway and travel south a few miles until you hit Geiger Rd…Turn left and it will sort of end at the Marina.

At MM10 left to the Ocean there is a fantastic working marina and restaurant not to be missed when you visit the Keys..... Not only do they serve the freshest fish sandwiches, you can watch the locals arrive with their catch. Million dollar views from every table and cold, cold beverages served by the friendliest people. We did not want to leave we were having so much fun listening to the music and watching the locals socialize...This is truly Paradise and what everyone is searching for when visiting the keys...

It takes some finding, but once found is definitely worth it. It's on the left hand side about 2 miles down from the Shell garage at mile marker 10 on US1.

A rustic place with wooden furniture where you sit outside right on the dock. I could have spent all afternoon here just drinking beer and chinwagging...

However, the food is worth mentioning as it's very good. Recommendations are the burger and the shrimp po'boy both which are nicely decked out with plenty of fries.

We went twice during our 8 day stay in December and will return...

We made two trips to Geiger Key pub & Grill during our stay in Key West this year. Once again the food and service were excellent. The Shrimp Po Boy is very very good. A very peaceful and beautiful location.

Found it through word of mouth. Food is great camp grounds are excelent. Management are extremely helpful. Have returned many times and would not stay anywere else.

"On The Back Side of Paradise" This is the slogan for the bar and grill. Going to Geiger Key is like stepping back into time. This is the "Real Keys" what the keys used to be.. Good food, great company, beautiful view. and a fun time is what Geiger Key is all about. If you can find it you have found Paradise. They have a camp ground as well. Fun Place to stay.

… the weekend cookout, you couldn't do better in your own backyard. This place is like going back in time and experiencing what the Keys are really about. Located right on the water with flats boats docking for a cold beer or lunch, it's really a cool place. The service is always friendly and fun! With a doubt, if you hang around long enough, meet some unique characters (it's a locals hangout) and if you get bored you can always feed the fish next to your picnic table. A true Keys experience from the past, Geiger Key is a one of a kind. Stay away, it's hard to find and you know what tourists can do to a place like this. It's been my little secret for over 25 years. By the way, the fish is always fresh and excellent. Best place in the keys for breakfast. Hope you don't find it.
